Dr. Sunil Shahane completed his graduation from G.S. Medical College, Mumbai and did his post-graduation in Orthopaedics from KEM Hospital, Mumbai. He persuaded his further education from University of Liverpool, U.K and achieved fellowship in Arthritis and Joint Reconstruction surgery under the able guidance of Dr. C.S. Ranawat at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, USA.

He holds the credit for being awardedthe “John Monk prize fir Anatomy” in his M. Ch. (Orthopaedics) examination and is also a distinction holder in Surgery and Biochemistry in his M.B.B.S. examinations.
